We don’t negotiate with terrorists. Remember that old cliché? It used to make patriots leap from their seats and burst into rabid applause. Well, it’s back. Many media trumpets of Western powers now play the ‘we won’t negotiate with ISIS’ tune. And quite rightly. There has never been a clearer enemy. They are indisputably and exactly humanity’s foe.
Their very existence is an even more pronounced attack on the basic values of morality and science than their al-Qeada predecessors. ISIS represents the next generation of terror. A filthy evil that’s hellbent on some twisted doctrine to inflict destruction and relentless misery. Before, we had underground networks with the capability of guerrilla style attacks. Now, this wretched gang of thugs has gained serious power. They even have the audacity to label their conquered lands a state.
But they are not worthy of the title state. That name implies even the roughest form of civility. What we have instead, is a band of barbarians with medieval morality and modern day weaponry. Unsurprisingly, that has so has so far resulted in – and believe me, this will continue – a viscous empire of theocracy and brutality. An empire ultimately answerable to a fictitious deity and therefore some pious human. The title of Islamic Empire is much more fitting – that is the Caliphate after all.
[ Their slick propaganda is well adjusted to our digital age. Notice how it fades out just before it gets too unpalatable for the majority of people. EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. ]
As Patrick Cockburn rightly wrote, “[ISIS] has taken over from the al-Qa’ida organisation founded by Osama bin Laden as the most powerful and effective extreme jihadi group in the world.” That’s right, they have actually outdone al-Qa’ida in the suicidal death cult racket. A disturbing evolution. Terrorism is developing.
And it isn’t just ISIS. They represent all of these malicious gangs. Al-Shabaab has launched another attack in Kenya, Boko Haram have seized another town in Nigeria and no doubt the Islamic militia that captured a Tripoli airport in Libya, will soon try for Islamic statehood.
This fundamentalism has grown and evolved to such a degree, it is now a branch of ultra-nationalism. It is completely obsessed with territory, and if not race then religion. They brainwash the poverty stricken young with lies and disturbingly effective propaganda. All with the aim of creating a territory based on their crude ideology.
But it isn’t quite the same as ultra-nationalism. Groups like ISIS are much more widespread and active than ultra-nationalists and more importantly, the ideological fuel of Islamic fundamentalist is much more potent. It is total after all. Their life becomes dedicated to establishing their Caliphate, spreading their doctrine and cleansing the infidels. Then, death is a welcome release to their afterlife.

Whether Chuck (US Secretary of Defense) is spouting genuine concern or if there is a hypocritical and self-interested motive, doesn’t matter. This shows the urgency of the matter. But why is this different from 9/11? Well these non-state actors are on the verge of becoming state actors.
This is the result of decades decades of war, fear and destruction – all combined with powerful religious doctrine and masters of propaganda and combat.
Where these rogues were once sheltered, they now occupy. Yesterday’s terrorists are now armed crusaders on a biblical scale. These rogues are getting stronger and more ambitious.
Supposedly, the man who cut James Foley’s throat is the son of an al-Qeada terrorist awaiting trial in the US. Is there any better illustration of the terrifying evolution of Islamic fundamentalism than this?
Welcome to the next generation of terror.
